Newsom’s Country Ham was honored to be featured in the 2025 Season 5 Episode 1 of "The Farmer and the Foodie.” Great to start the year of 2025. The series season started with a KET airdate Jan. 4, followed by two viewings Jan. 6. Nancy (left) welcomed The Farmer and The Foodie show hosts Maggie Keith and Lindsey McClave to Newsom’s Main Street store. "The response for us was overwhelming," said Nancy. "And, we discovered how many wonderful fans love 'The Farmer and the Foodie.' Maggie, Lindsey and the whole crew are outstanding." The Farmer and The Foodie hosts and film crew were in Princeton in April and again in May, talking with Nancy and John, viewing the 2024 hams and Newsom’s Old Mill Store. Episodes continue to be available for viewing on YouTube through KET and the PBS network. UPDATE: (August 2026) Honored to be the subject of the EMMY winning episode Hooray for KET’s “The Farmer and The Foodie. They won an Emmy from the Ohio Valley Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. The award was made for the episode featuring Newsom’s Country Hams. Made in the spring of 2024, it aired for the opening of the 2025 season and has been aired in several public television regions since. “We are truly honored to be the subject of the winning episode,” said Nancy. The win was announced in a KET news release last week. The awards recognize excellence in the areas of local news, programming and individual achievement and are one of the industry’s highest honors.
